Over the past few years, the use of photovoltaics has become increasingly popular. More and more homeowners are deciding to switch to solar energy to cover their energy needs and save money at the same time.
But how can this be represented in the wiring diagram? Currently, wiring-diagram.com is focussed on the distributor’s point of view. This is essentially used to connect the RCD + protection device for the inverter, a feed-in meter if necessary and then the terminal block to the inverter.
The same applies to the battery (although this is usually connected directly to the inverter).
In addition, you can create an overview drawing of the PV system using our “Free Drawing” module. We have included a suitable template as an example in the module.
In most cases, however, a compact note can also describe the external system, as the following example shows:

This diagram is generated in planning using the following tree structure:

You can easily add another meter in the tree structure. Alternatively, you can create another page as an attachment with our Free Drawing module.
Fortunately, a photovoltaic installation is also very easy to set up outside the distribution system. For normal-sized systems this consists of:
- an inverter with 1-3 strings of photovoltaic modules connected to it
- optional: a battery directly on the inverter.
You can decide for yourself if you need another drawing for this or if the note is sufficient as documentation.
The following video shows you how to configure the feed-in in general (e.g. additional meters: for photovoltaics, for the heat pump, for a separate battery inverter):
