On wiring-diagram.com, you have the option to share your projects for viewing with others.
For this, you can generate a QR code that leads to an (optionally password-protected) link. The link itself can also be shared, for example, via email. The current version of your wiring diagram can always be accessed via this link.
If the project is licensed, we even offer a PDF download via this link.
It is also possible to import projects shared with you into your account and continue editing them there.
This function is useful for many applications:
- Stick a QR code into the distribution box instead of a printout, always pointing to the current version!
- The QR code also appears on the final wiring diagram. We print the password on the second page.
- Share a project / the current status for viewing with another electrician / colleague
- Training material can be easily made available
So, how do you proceed?
There are two ways to share a project.
In the project view, under the “General” tab -> “Share project”

or in the project list, in the “…” menu -> “Share Project”

Then the following dialog appears:

Here you have several options:
- Open and print the QR code by right-clicking in a new browser tab.
- Copy the link (using the button at the end of the link) and send it.
- Pro tip: The link can also be printed directly as a QR code using various label printers. This makes it particularly easy to stick into a distribution box.
- Change or completely remove the password.
- Deactivate the QR code again via the checkbox.
A shared project offers many possibilities, just try it out. Sharing can always be deactivated again.
A few more words on security:
- The generated codes are created in such a way that they cannot be guessed by unauthorized persons. Your wiring diagrams are therefore securely protected even with a generated code (regardless of the set password), as long as you only send the link to trusted individuals.
- We have the password as an additional protection: links you send via email can, for example, be forwarded, and QR codes can appear in careless social media posts 😉 If you want to protect yourself against this, keep the password active on the QR code as well.
