Connection points are points where the drawing of a line can be started, regardless of the current interaction mode.
Connection points on symbols:
Symbols can have connection points (orange circles). You can start drawing a new line here by left-clicking.
Some connection points will automatically suggest a line style (colour, line type) for the new line to be drawn.
Connection points on lines:
Lines consist of individual segments, each segment has a start point and an end point (black circles), which become visible when hovering over the segment.
You can start drawing a new line here by left-clicking. You can also shorten the segment by holding down the left mouse button.
