We support oor communication and access systems via our Additional DIN-Rail devices and bus systems function.
The following download (please unpack *.zip file) contains template files (see Loading and saving templates for other DIN-rail devices) for
- ekey bus system
- ekey multi SE
- ekey home converter LAN
- ekey home converter KNX
ekey – Templates stromlaufplan.de
The configuration of an ekey access system will be used as an example here.
In the basic planning, the following should be created for this:
- a power supply unit,
- an “Additional bus system”,
- several “Other DIN-rail devices” for the bus subscribers
- and terminal blocks for distributing the signals (and the bus system itself) throughout the building.
In the following example, 2 DIN-rail devices and 3 outgoing terminals (bus, motorised lock and push-button) have been configured:

To achieve the same state:
- Create an “Additional bus system” using the template. The template is used to configure the wire designations of the bus system to sensible default values.
- Create “Other DIN Rail devices” underneath with the help of the templates “DIN-rail device – ekey multi SE REG 4.json” and “DIN-rail device – ekey home converter KNX RS-485.json”.
- The first template for the ekey Multi contains a ready-made configuration of the connection options. We will need these later. In addition, select a 24V supply for the ekey multi.
- the second template contains a simple configuration for the KNX adapter (if required). Select the option for the incoming bus to select the connected KNX lines.
Our first two devices then appear in the drawing as follows:

Now we still need outgoing terminals to lead the E-Key cables into the house.
For this example, we have created three terminal blocks:
- a terminal block for the bus signal (e.g. fingerprint)
- a terminal block for the cable to the motorised lock (connected to ekey terminal 7+8)
- (optional) a cable for connecting a push-button as an additional control unit (connected to ekey terminal 10+11)
The final drawing can then look like this, for example:
Tip:
- In the first terminal block, the “terminal types” must be set to the bus lines.

- In the latter two terminal blocks, the specific ekey terminals can be assigned via the [+] symbol (similar to terminal blocks that are assigned to switching actuators)
