This spring, we polished and tidied up our tool in many areas. Here’s a summary of the most important features:
- New Options in Terminal Blocks
- Auxiliary Contacts Better Visible in Export
- Optimized Toolbar in “Free Drawing” and “Enclosure Layout” for Smaller Screen Resolutions
- Find Archived Projects More Easily
- Extended Delete Warning for Projects with QR Code
- Import Project from QR Code
- “Custom Cable Type” for the Supply.
- Additional Improvements
New Options in Terminal Blocks
Previously, terminal blocks in the wiring diagram were always displayed as classic terminals. However, for some projects, this isn’t the most suitable representation.
That’s why there’s now another connection type: direct connection.

This allows cables or connections to be displayed with arrows when they shouldn’t be routed through individual terminals.

Additionally, we’ve revised the dialog for creating terminal blocks so that it’s (hopefully) much clearer that you can use multiple lines here to quickly create several terminal blocks.

Auxiliary Contacts Better Visible in Export
Auxiliary contacts of protection devices are now properly included in the relevant exports. This is especially helpful when you process the data further or compare it with other planning documents.

Optimized Toolbar in “Free Drawing” and “Enclosure Layout” for Smaller Screen Resolutions
The toolbar in “Free Drawing” and “Enclosure Layout” now adapts much better to the available resolution. When there isn’t much space available, the text in the buttons is shortened first, or the buttons are moved into a separate submenu at even smaller widths.
This provides a larger area for the actual drawing.

Find Archived Projects More Easily
When you have many projects, some naturally end up in the archive over time.
The search and project list now provide better hints when there are no matches in active projects, but matching archived projects exist.
This helps you realize more quickly that the project you’re looking for isn’t gone, but just in the archive.

Extended Delete Warning for Projects with QR Code
Since the beginning of the year, you can share projects via link or QR code.
We’ve added a small but important improvement: If a project has an active QR code or shared access, you’ll get a corresponding warning when deleting it.
This prevents accidentally deleting a project that might still be used as digital documentation in the distribution board.

Import Project from QR Code
When someone sends you a project link or QR code, you can now create your own project from it even more easily.
When creating a new project, you can directly paste a QR code or sharing URL. stromlaufplan.de will then import the appropriate project data and you can continue working from there.

This is practical for handovers, training, or when a project should serve as a template.
“Individual Cable Type” for the Supply.
If you ever need an NYCWY 4×35/16 supply cable, you can now configure this cable type using the “individual cable type” option in the supply.

Additional Improvements
In addition to the major points, there were many smaller cleanup tasks and technical improvements:
- The values under “Account -> Settings” are now saved automatically
- We’ve significantly accelerated the loading time of the “Free Drawing” tab. The very first opening of the day may take a bit longer, but when you switch between tabs, you should no longer notice any delay.
- We’ve also optimized the overall loading time and download size of the website for extra-fast loading on the job site.
- The notice for purchasing licenses can now be collapsed so it doesn’t take up as much space. This is especially helpful in Free Drawing and Enclosure Layout, giving you more space on the drawing area—even in demo mode.
- We now print the password of a QR code vertically in the upper left of the plan. This makes the password more readable when the plan is filed.
- The automatic drawing number can now be overridden
- In the background, we’ve updated many software versions to provide a secure and robust platform.
- Additional new features have their own article:
Enjoy the spring cleaning release!
