With a new feature, sharing projects on wiring-diagram.com becomes significantly easier and more flexible.
From now on, you can share your projects in read-only mode with others – simply via link or QR code. The shared access always shows the current status of the project and is suitable for many practical everyday use cases.
How sharing works
An individual link can be generated for a project, which is optionally password-protected. Additionally, a QR code is available that points to this exact link. Both can be freely shared – for example, via email or as a printout.
Access is read-only. Changes to the project are not possible via the shared link.
If the project is licensed, a PDF download of the current plan can also be provided via the shared link.
Take over and continue editing projects
If a project is shared with you, you can take it over into your own account and continue editing it there. This function is therefore also ideal for collaboration, handovers, or training purposes.
Typical use cases
The new sharing feature opens up many possibilities, for example:
- Attaching a QR code in the distribution box instead of a printout – and always referring to the current version
- Sharing read-only plans with colleagues or other electricians
- Providing training materials easily and up-to-date
- Coordinating projects transparently with customers or project partners
Practical: The QR code is automatically included on the final wiring diagram. A set password appears on the second page.
Old project transfer is replaced
With this function, we are replacing the previous project transfer via temporary codes. The new sharing is not only simpler but also significantly more flexible and better suited for everyday use – especially when projects are still evolving.
Security
The generated links and codes are designed so that they cannot be guessed. Your projects remain securely protected as long as you only grant access to trusted individuals.
The optional password serves as additional protection – for example, in case a link is forwarded or a QR code unintentionally appears publicly 😉
Try it out now
Sharing a project can be activated and deactivated at any time. Just try it out and see how the feature can be used in your workflow.
